I cannot input any characters when prompted to set the password for Elasticsearch during akaBot Center installation. What can I do?

When you run elasticsearch-setup-passwords on the Command Prompt (CMD), the password you type is not displayed on the screen for security reasons. Even though you cannot see the characters as you type, they are still being captured.

? Recommended Approach:

  1. Type your desired password into a text editor like Notepad.

  2. Copy the password.

  3. Paste it into the CMD by right-clicking inside the CMD window and then pressing Enter.

  4. Even though the password is not displayed, it will still be accepted if you do this correctly.

NOTE:
If you are not using akaBot Collaboration Center, you can skip the Elasticsearch installation and password setup entirely. Elasticsearch is only required for the optional Collaboration Center add-on.
