How to Run Applications like EXE Files
1. Using the "Open Window" Activity
You can open applications using the "Open Window" activity. For more details, please refer to the article "Open Window" under the section "4. How to Use."
2. Using the "Run" Command
By pressing the "Windows key" and the "R key" together, you can display the "Run" box. In this box, you can specify the application you want to start, and it will launch that application.
Example: Opening Notepad
Preparation: Press the "Windows key" and "R key" simultaneously to display the "Run" box.
- Place the "Windows Application" > "Send Hotkey" activity and set the keys to "Windows key" and "R key."
- Place the "Windows Application" > "Type Into" activity and specify the text as "notepad".
- Click the "Pick target element" button in the "Type Into" activity and select the input field of the "Run" box.
- Place the "Windows Application" > "Click" activity and, using "Indicate element," select the "OK" button in the "Run" box.
3. Using the "Click" or "Click Image" Activity
You can also use the "Windows Application" > "Click" activity or the "Core" > "Image" > "Click Image" activity to start applications by clicking icons on the desktop, taskbar, or applications that appear when you click the Windows logo (Start button).
For example, if you want to start the Snipping Tool (pre-installed in Windows 10) from the Start button:
- Use the "Click" activity to click the "Windows logo (Start button)"
- Use the "Click Image" activity to click the "#" symbol
- Use the "Click Image" activity to click "W"
- Use the "Click Image" activity to click "Windows Accessories"
- Use the "Click Image" activity to click "Snipping Tool"
This will launch the Snipping Tool.
